After spending most of yesterday stuck indoors in the rain - has anyone got any ideas of ways to keep the children amused whilst we have this wet weather??? (Have been puddle jumping twice this week already!) Think

"Put on the wet weather gear and get on with it" - that's what my mother always said. When my sister and I were kids she was great at just carrying on. I have great childhood memories of searching out places to take cover in the woods so we can still have our pic-nic in the rain!!!

I was in Cornwall last week, and we did get caught in the most horendous downpours sometimes, but it didn't spoil the fun. Its amazing how good a hot chocolate tastes after a blowy wet walk in the rain.

Hi. I agree with Funky Chicken. Rain is a part of living here, which is why it is so green. How about bowling or swimming? Kids normally love that. Or museum, theatre, cinema, indoor go karting, or even any outdoor activity. I remember as a kid I loved jumping in paddles or running about with my wellies and an umbrella.

Thanks for your suggestions Funky Chicken and NicoleCH. I totally agree , my children love getting wet. We have a dog and a horse both of whom need dealing with come rain or shine, but after getting drenched a least twice yesterday and the girls waterproof trousers and jackets still being damp when it came to putting them on again - I was in need of a something to do that didn't include water!! It is a good excuse for hot chocolate though especially if it includes marshmallows. Applause

The sun is out today. The rain never last too long (forgetting about last summer of course). So next time my advice would be enjoy the rain while it lasts. Get your kids to put their rain coats and wellies again and take them splashing in the puddles! Dancing
