The Enjoy England Quality Rose
Listen to our quality message
The Enjoy England Quality Rose reassures you before you check into your holiday accommodation that it will be just what you want, because it’s been checked out by independent assessors. Enjoy England assessors work all year round, ensuring that the standards you find are what you would expect. And since we’ve done all the work, you can relax, book with confidence and get on with the real business of having a fantastic break.
The Quality Rose is the mark of England’s official, nationwide quality assessment scheme and is an independent, reliable, impartial assessment of quality covering just about every type of place you might want to stay. The variety of accommodation on offer is truly astonishing: from caravan parks to stylish boutique hotels, farmhouse B&Bs to country house retreats, self-catering cottages by the sea to comfy narrowboats perfect for getting away from it all. There are nine main types of accommodation, with a host of different options in each – see below for more details. But whatever your budget or preference, you can be sure of finding something to suit. Think of the Quality Rose as your personal guarantee that your expectations will be met.
Our objective quality ratings give you a clear indication of accommodation standard, cleanliness, ambience, hospitality, service and food. Using a clear star rating system (1-5 stars), they provide the reassurance you need about what to expect before you arrive. Generally, the more stars the higher the level of quality. For individual types of accommodation, the quality rating allows you to distinguish between both the quality of the accommodation and the facilities on offer. For hotels, one and two star hotels tend to be smaller operations that do not offer room service or have telephones in the rooms but the quality of the service & hospitality, bedrooms, bathrooms and food may be of a high quality. Look out for the Silver & Gold awards for hotels and guest accommodation whose quality outperform their star rating.
"How to Run Quality Self Catering Accommodation" has been written by tourism experts at the East of England Tourist Board and offers the very latest in research, legislation and practical advice, enabling you to learn “how to run”, and equally importantly, “how not to run” a successful accommodation establishment.
